Rock Chalk
When it comes to rocking chalk, the Jayhawks' win, along with 13 other higher seeds holding, certainly did that on (ready on) day one. In fact, the only favorite to win the game without covering the number was Duke (-20). The only lower seeds to win yesterday were Texas A&M (-1) and underdog Kansas State (+3.5). UNLV (+2) was a higher seeded underdog that held serve.
Therefore, versus the number yesterday, higher seeds were 13-3, with BYU, USC and the aforementioned Duke being the losers.
Versus the number yesterday, favorites were also 13-3, with Kent St (and their 10 first half points) joining USC and Duke on the losers line.
I suppose the Godfather's 12-4 yesterday against the number pales somewhat in comparison to those numbers, though you still made plenty of money yesterday if you invested in my picks. Oh, and the fact I went 16-0 on my sheet of integrity was pretty good, too.
Here are the Day Two picks, in case you need a little spending money for the weekend.
Tennessee -19.5
Gonzaga +1.5
Drake -4
Miami pick
Butler -4.5
Georgetown -17
UConn -11
Texas -16
St. Joe's +1
UNC -25
Vandy -6.5
Miss. St. -2.5
Indiana -2
Louisville -13.5
Villanova +6
Memphis -24.5
I violated a golden rule yesterday by taking Georgia and Kentucky; never bet an underdog unless you expect them to win outright. That's why I picked Georgetown today despite a sneaking suspicion that UMBC might play them tight.
For entertainment only.

Kent Read, Kent Write, Kent State had ten more points than my couch.
Wright State, Wrong College would have put up a better effort.
